Effective date: July 18, 2026
1. Agreement
These Terms of Service, together with our Privacy Policy and any purchase terms shown by Apple, Google, another app marketplace, or inside the app, form a binding agreement between you and Vibeler Inc. ("Vibeler," "we," "us," or "our"). "Riso" means our mobile app, website, content, features, software, alarms, missions, wake checks, sleep tools, subscription features, support materials, and related services.
By downloading, accessing, purchasing, subscribing to, testing, or using Riso, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use Riso and cancel any subscription through the app marketplace or billing provider that manages it before the renewal deadline shown by that provider.
2. Who may use Riso
You may use Riso only if you can form a legally binding contract in your jurisdiction. If you are under the age of majority where you live, a parent or legal guardian must review and accept these Terms for you. Riso is not directed to children under 13, and children under 13 may not use Riso.
You are responsible for ensuring that your use of Riso is legal where you live and appropriate for your health, household, workplace, school, travel, and device circumstances.
3. What Riso does
Riso is an alarm and morning-routine app that can require wake-up missions before an alarm stops. Missions may include mental tasks, phone movement, walking, typing, memory tasks, photo matching, barcode scanning, object finding, smiling, bed-making proof, sky photo proof, and physical exercises such as squats, pushups, burpees, jumping jacks, lunges, or plank holds. Riso may also include wake checks, protection modes, alarm diagnostics, widgets, journey statistics, sleep tracking, local sleep sound analysis, optional short sleep audio recordings, and premium subscription features.
Riso uses AI-assisted proof and other automated checks to help decide whether a mission appears complete. Those checks can be wrong, delayed, unavailable, overly strict, or fooled by unusual conditions. Riso may also offer non-camera missions or fallback options when available.
AI features are assistive product features, not guarantees. They do not replace your judgment, your backup alarm plan, professional advice, or safety precautions.
4. What Riso does not do
Riso does not provide medical, mental-health, fitness, sleep-disorder, nutrition, emergency, legal, employment, childcare, transportation, or professional advice. Riso does not diagnose, treat, prevent, monitor, or cure any condition, including insomnia, depression, anxiety, sleep apnea, hypersomnia, parasomnias, circadian rhythm disorders, fatigue, snoring, gasping, breathing problems, skin concerns, ADHD, or other medical or psychological conditions.
Riso does not guarantee that you will wake up on time, build a habit, improve sleep, look younger, gain energy, increase stamina, improve focus, improve fitness, gain confidence, change your appearance, meet a deadline, keep a job, catch transportation, or achieve any life, school, work, health, or relationship outcome.
Educational articles and in-app insights are general information. They are not a substitute for advice from qualified professionals. If you experience breathing pauses, choking or gasping during sleep, dangerous daytime sleepiness, fainting, chest pain, severe mood symptoms, self-harm thoughts, repeated missed obligations despite adequate sleep opportunity, or any urgent concern, seek appropriate professional or emergency help.
5. Alarm reliability limits
You acknowledge that alarms and notifications can fail or behave differently for many reasons outside Vibeler's control, including battery level, device power, volume, mute switches, speakers, headphones, Focus modes, notification permissions, alarm permissions, operating-system behavior, background execution limits, force quitting, storage limits, clock/time-zone changes, Bluetooth routing, device damage, network/App Store issues, user settings, and third-party platform changes.
You are solely responsible for maintaining backup alarms and backup plans. For important mornings, use redundant alarm sources, a charged device, tested settings, and any human or external backup you need. Riso may provide diagnostics to help understand alarm behavior, but diagnostics are not a promise that any future alarm will work.
6. Mission safety
You are responsible for choosing missions, difficulty levels, locations, and schedules that are safe for you. Do not perform missions while driving, operating machinery, holding a baby, cooking, using stairs unsafely, bathing, near traffic, in a hazardous environment, or when you feel dizzy, injured, ill, impaired, or unable to move safely.
Physical missions can cause strain or injury. Camera missions can require you to place your phone securely and move within frame. Barcode, photo, object, sky, and bed missions can require movement through your home or outdoors. You agree to stop using a mission, emergency-dismiss where available, or change your settings if continuing would be unsafe. Consult a qualified professional before using physical missions if you have health conditions, injuries, mobility limitations, pregnancy-related restrictions, pain, balance issues, or exercise limitations.
7. Your responsibilities
You agree to use Riso responsibly and lawfully. You must keep your device secure, maintain current contact and account information if you provide it, test alarm settings before relying on them, keep the app and operating system reasonably updated, grant only permissions you understand, and review any mission target before saving it. If account features are available and you use them, you are responsible for keeping credentials secure, for activity under your account, and for promptly telling us about suspected unauthorized access.
You agree not to misuse Riso, interfere with the app, bypass payment or technical controls, copy or reverse engineer the app except where law expressly allows, scrape or harvest content, use Riso to harm others, submit unlawful or infringing material, impersonate anyone, or use Riso in a way that violates another person's privacy, safety, property, or rights.
You are responsible for complying with laws that apply to your use of Riso, including privacy, recording, workplace, school, housing, export-control, sanctions, and consumer-protection rules. You represent that you are not located in, ordinarily resident in, under the control of, or acting on behalf of any person or territory subject to sanctions or restrictions that would make your use of Riso unlawful.
8. User content and diagnostics
You may create or store alarm labels, profile details, mission targets, photos, barcode labels, mission evidence, sleep notes, sleep sound events, optional sleep audio clips, settings, wake history, and support diagnostics ("User Content"). As between you and Vibeler, you retain your rights in your User Content.
When you choose to send User Content or diagnostics to us for support, troubleshooting, safety review, legal compliance, or product improvement, you grant Vibeler a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, copy, process, analyze, transmit, display internally, create excerpts from, and use that material for those purposes. Do not send us sensitive material that is not needed for support.
If you send ideas, feedback, suggestions, feature requests, bug reports, or other comments about Riso, you grant Vibeler a perpetual, worldwide, irrevocable, transferable, sublicensable, royalty-free right to use them without restriction or compensation. Do not send feedback you expect us to treat as confidential unless we have signed a separate written agreement.
9. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains what information Riso handles and how it is used. By using Riso, you acknowledge that you have reviewed the Privacy Policy. You are responsible for obtaining any consent needed before recording or capturing another person, another person's voice, a shared bedroom, a shared home, or a private location.
10. Subscriptions, trials, billing, and refunds
Some Riso features are free and some require a paid subscription. Purchases, free trials, introductory offers, renewals, cancellations, billing issues, taxes, price displays, family sharing where available, and refunds are handled through Apple's App Store, Google Play, another app marketplace, or another billing provider unless we expressly provide a direct billing method. The applicable provider may require you to cancel before a renewal deadline to avoid the next charge. Deleting Riso, deleting local data, deleting an account, or contacting Vibeler does not automatically cancel a marketplace subscription.
Subscription features, prices, trials, eligibility, plan names, renewal terms, and premium entitlements may change, subject to applicable law and marketplace rules. We do not receive or store your full payment card details when purchases are handled by an app marketplace. Refunds, chargebacks, billing support, and cancellation rights are provided only where required by law, required by the applicable marketplace rules, or expressly offered by Vibeler in writing.
11. Intellectual property
Riso, the website, software, designs, names, logos, visual assets, content, copy, data structures, mission flows, product concepts, and related materials are owned by Vibeler or its licensors and are protected by intellectual-property and other laws. Subject to your compliance with these Terms, Vibeler grants you a limited, personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use Riso for your own lawful personal purposes.
No rights are granted except as expressly stated. You may not sell, sublicense, copy, modify, distribute, publicly display, publicly perform, exploit, or create derivative works from Riso except as permitted by law or by written permission from Vibeler.
12. Custom mobile EULA and platform terms
This section is part of our custom mobile end-user license agreement. It applies in addition to the rest of these Terms when you download, access, purchase, subscribe to, test, or use Riso through Apple's App Store, TestFlight, Google Play, another app marketplace, or a device platform. If marketplace terms conflict with these Terms, the marketplace terms apply only to the extent required by that marketplace.
Riso depends on third-party platforms and services, including operating-system services, App Store and Google Play distribution, in-app purchase systems, device permissions, notifications, email clients, share sheets, camera and microphone access, and other device features. Those third parties may have their own terms, privacy practices, refund rules, review decisions, outage risks, and policy changes. Vibeler is not responsible for their acts, omissions, systems, or requirements except where applicable law does not allow that responsibility to be excluded.
Developer and contact. Riso is developed and operated by Vibeler Inc., a Canadian federal corporation located in Ontario, Canada. For maintenance, support, legal, privacy, safety, app-store, product-claim, or intellectual-property questions about Riso, contact support@riso.app. Apple, Google, and other app marketplaces are not responsible for providing maintenance or support for Riso unless their own terms expressly say otherwise.
Apple-specific terms. If you downloaded Riso from Apple's App Store or use Riso through Apple's platforms, Vibeler, not Apple, is solely responsible for Riso, Riso's content, maintenance and support, product warranties to the extent not disclaimed or limited in these Terms, product claims, product-liability claims, privacy compliance, regulatory claims, consumer-protection claims, and any claim that Riso or your possession or use of Riso infringes a third party's intellectual-property rights. Apple has no maintenance, support, or warranty obligation for Riso except any refund of the purchase price where required by Apple's applicable marketplace terms. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Vibeler, not Apple, is responsible for investigating, defending, settling, and discharging third-party intellectual-property infringement claims involving Riso. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and, upon your acceptance of these Terms, may enforce these Terms against you as third-party beneficiaries.
Google-specific terms. If Riso is distributed through Google Play or used through Google's platforms, Google is not responsible for Riso, Riso's content, maintenance, support, product claims, warranties, refunds beyond Google Play's own policies, intellectual-property claims, privacy compliance, regulatory compliance, or your use of Riso. Your use of Riso through Google Play is also subject to Google Play's applicable terms, billing rules, refund rules, family-library rules, device requirements, account requirements, and developer distribution policies.
Export, sanctions, and government-use rules. You may not download, access, export, re-export, transfer, or use Riso in violation of applicable export-control, sanctions, embargo, anti-terrorism, restricted-party, or government-procurement laws and regulations of Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, the European Union, or any other applicable jurisdiction. You represent that you are not located in, ordinarily resident in, under the control of, or acting on behalf of any restricted country, region, entity, or person, and that you will not use Riso for any prohibited end use. If you are a U.S. government end user, Riso and related documentation are commercial items licensed only with the rights granted in these Terms.
13. Availability, changes, and beta features
Riso may be interrupted, delayed, unavailable, inaccurate, or changed at any time. We may add, remove, limit, suspend, discontinue, or modify features, missions, AI proof behavior, subscriptions, content, diagnostics, eligibility, or supported devices. Some features may be experimental, beta, pre-release, region-limited, premium-only, or dependent on operating-system versions and permissions. Beta or testing features, including TestFlight builds, may be more unstable, may lose data, may change without notice, and may be withdrawn at any time.
We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control, including platform outages, device failures, operating-system changes, App Store issues, power failures, network failures, labor disputes, government action, public emergencies, natural events, or security incidents affecting third parties.
14. Termination
You may stop using Riso at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access to Riso, subscription-related app features, support, or website content if we believe you violated these Terms, created risk or liability, misused the app, or where required by law or platform rules. Termination does not automatically cancel app-store or marketplace subscriptions; you must manage those through the provider that bills you.
15. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Riso is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties or conditions of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise. Vibeler disclaims all warranties and conditions of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, quiet enjoyment, accuracy, availability, alarm performance, mission performance, health outcome, habit outcome, sleep outcome, compatibility, and uninterrupted or error-free operation.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers, so some disclaimers may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties, guarantees, or rights that cannot legally be excluded.
16. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Vibeler and its directors, officers, employees, contractors, agents, affiliates, licensors, and suppliers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, punitive, or enhanced damages; lost profits; lost revenue; lost employment or opportunity; missed travel; missed school or work; reputational harm; data loss; device issues; personal injury; property damage; sleep disruption; household disruption; or damages arising from alarm failure, delayed alarm behavior, mission failure, subscription issues, support delay, content, AI proof decisions, or your reliance on Riso.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Vibeler's total aggregate liability for all claims, damages, losses, causes of action, and proceedings relating to Riso will be limited cumulatively to the amount you actually paid Vibeler through Riso in the 12 months before the claim. If you paid nothing, Vibeler's total aggregate liability will be CAD $0 to the maximum extent permitted by law. This cap applies in contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, product liability, statute, equity, restitution, misrepresentation, or any other legal theory, even if a remedy fails of its essential purpose or Vibeler was advised that damages were possible. It does not limit liability that cannot be limited by law.
17. Indemnity
To the maximum extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Vibeler and its directors, officers, employees, contractors, agents, affiliates, licensors, and suppliers from any claims, losses, liabilities, damages, judgments, penalties, fines, costs, and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising from your use or misuse of Riso, your User Content, your breach of these Terms, your unsafe conduct, your violation of law, or your violation of another person's rights.
18. Disputes, governing law, and venue
Before starting a formal proceeding, you agree to contact us at support@riso.app and give us a reasonable opportunity to resolve the issue informally. These Terms and any dispute relating to Riso are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
Subject to consumer rights that cannot be waived, the courts located in Ontario, Canada will have exclusive jurisdiction and venue. To the maximum extent permitted by law, disputes must be brought only in an individual capacity and not as a plaintiff or class member in any proposed class, collective, consolidated, or representative proceeding. If a court finds this class-action waiver unenforceable for a claim, the waiver will be severed only as needed for that claim.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, any claim relating to Riso must be started within one year after the claim arose, or it is permanently barred. If applicable law requires a longer non-waivable period, the shortest period permitted by that law applies.
19. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If a change is material, we will take reasonable steps to notify you through the app, website, App Store release notes, or another appropriate method. Your continued use of Riso after the effective date of updated Terms means you accept the updated Terms.
20. Miscellaneous
If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent. We may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar transaction. These Terms are the entire agreement between you and Vibeler regarding Riso, except for additional terms that expressly apply to purchases, beta features, or third-party services.
You agree that we may communicate with you electronically through Riso, email, the website, App Store release notes, or device/platform notices. Headings are for convenience only. Any terms that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including ownership, payment obligations, disclaimers, liability limits, indemnity, dispute terms, and this miscellaneous section.
